With breathtaking desert mountain views in the background, and vistas of pepper trees in the foreground, bride Tal tied the knot to husband Ian in true California style. Splashed with color from start to finish, Tal and Ian’s wedding at Angeles National Golf Club merged tradition with playful celebration and an indoor/outdoor venue perfectly suited to it’s June date and West Coast location. To add a generous dose of glamour to her Los Angeles affair, Tal worked with us to create the perfect custom Lauren Elaine mermaid wedding gown. Inspired by our “Aislin” and “Jasmine” styles, Tal’s custom gown incorporated champagne underlay side paneling, 3D floral lace appliqués, and a plunging back with a show-stopping feathered tulle skirt with detachable cathedral train, and topped with a custom cathedral veil and blusher. But even more show-stopping than her gown and venue combined, gorgeous Bride Tal shines with happiness in these dazzling captures by photographer Yair Haim.

If this bride looks familiar, it’s because she’s quite possibly one of my favorite people to dress:) From red carpets, to her own wedding aisle, Alyssa Campanella (now Coombs!) has worn her fair share of Lauren Elaine gowns. And while you’ll have to wait until the end of August for a full look at Alyssa’s wedding and her two custom Lauren Elaine wedding gowns (and her bridesmaids’ custom Lauren Elaine gowns!) to release in the Fall 2016 issue of The Knot – today I’m happy to share these lovely images of Alyssa’s 2nd wedding reception in her Lauren Elaine Briar Rose gown.
Back in April, this fashion blogger and former Miss USA wed actor Torrance Coombs in a royal-inspired wine country wedding at Sunstone Villa in Santa Ynez, California. This July, the newlyweds celebrated with their extended family in Canada during a second wedding reception in British Columbia. For this intimate second reception, Alyssa chose the aptly named, and fairytale-inspired “Briar Rose.” While we stayed away from tulle and opted for more a traditional look for Alyssa’s main ceremony gown in April, the soft layers and bohemian lace of the “Briar Rose” offered the perfect effortless and playful look for her second celebration, without straying from her regal royal wedding vibe.
Have a look at these enchanting images, capture by Alyssa’s husband Torrance. Be sure to pick up the Fall 2016 issue of The Knot on newsstands soon – and stay tuned for a full behind-the-seams look at the making of Alyssa’s custom wedding and bridal party gowns.
There are so many beautiful settings and hidden gem locations in California for weddings, and I love discovering them with each and every new bride we work with – especially our local Southern California brides! While a venue often helps guide a bride’s dress decision, there are certainly no rules. And I love seeing our brides photographed against such a diverse array of backdrops. Case in point: this gorgeous collection of images from stunning bride Marcela, in her Lauren Elaine “Aurelia” gown, at Crestmore Manor in Southern California. Mixing timeless elegance (venue!) with modern romance (gown!), and a mix of both indoor and outdoor settings -make for one gorgeous affair! Captured by photographer Joey Reger.

Intimate, timeless, and serene – garden weddings are always a favorite of mine. In September, radiant bride Danielle tied the knot at the magical Inn of the Seventh Ray in Topanga– the ultimate secret garden wedding venue. For her gown, Danielle wanted something elegant and vintage-y, while still feeling modern and unique. Pairing perfectly with her location, Danielle wore an “Aurelia” gown, customized just for her with sparkling Swarovski crystals and ivory pearls along the neckline, bodice, and thigh line. I loved working with Danielle to create her dream dress and something truly one-of-a-kind, and I was thrilled to receive this dreamy collection of images. Styled to perfection, Danielle looks every part the dazzling bride.
Two years ago today, a very special gown debuted down the aisle in Morro Bay, CA. Later named the “Cambria,” (after the beautiful beach town nearby), and now one of our most popular styles — this chiffon and horsehair beauty was actually custom designed from start-to-finish for my now sister-in-law, Janna. While I’ve shared a handful of images of Janna’s custom-designed rehearsal dinner dress, today I’m excited to share a very special look at Janna’s “Cambria” gown- in honor of her two year wedding anniversary! While it’s always such an honor to work with a bride and design the gown of her dreams for her wedding day, being able to create something special for family was a particularly rewarding experience.
This fall I had the honor of designing my new sister-in-law’s bridal gown for her October 12th wedding in Morro Bay, California (pics and post coming soon!) During one of her fittings, she mentioned that she wanted to incorporate material and lace from her grandmother’s 1930s vintage wedding gown into her ensemble. She asked if I had any ideas? While we originally brainstormed a one-of-kind heirloom garter, after seeing the gown for the first time, I suggested a restoration project to create a very special rehearsal dress from her grandmothers vintage gown. The inspiration was something bohemian, feminine, and appropriate for her seaside venue and semi-casual rehearsal dinner. The entire new dress is made solely from the materials and fabric of her grandmother’s gown. Here’s a look at the before and after:
