I have an obsession with desert landscapes. So, when I first saw these jaw-dropping images (by photographer Kathleen Hertel) from Nikki and Chris’s wedding ceremony on Jean Dry Lake bed outside of Las Vegas, NV, I fell madly in love (and very nostalgic for our SS2011 Black Label Campaign Film.) To compliment the unique and memorable location for her wedding, bride Nikki chose the “Bella” gown, and added to the free-spirit vibe of her wedding with a fresh flower crown. After saying ‘I do’ against this majestic mirage, Nikki and Chris celebrated at the famous “Pioneer Saloon.” A desert dream come true.
Here’s a few more #behindtheseams video clips from some of our recent Lauren Elaine Bridal photo shoots. While the details and silhouettes of each gown are shown in the mini-lookbooks, sometimes the magic and movement of each gown is best captured with a video. Here’s another look at a handful of video teasers from some our recent photoshoots – featuring the newly released Lauren Elaine Bridal styles. “There is a pleasure in the pathless woods…”
Nothing is more inspiring than Nature. I’ve lost hours to google, constantly on the hunt for interesting and inspiring photoshoot locations and scenery, and beautiful new places to discover. In February, I explored 5 national parks throughout California, ranging from prehistoric lakes to alpine forests. I kicked off a month of exploration in a place close to home–Angeles National Forest. While not exactly a new destination for me (see Sunday Safari), it’s landscape is vast and changes dramatically from one mile to the next. With a picnic in tow, I explored the eastern range of the mountains, complete with towering pines and rustic bridges in golden afternoon light. A perfect spot if I ever choose to revisit our ‘Little Red Riding Hood‘ campaign.
Today’s trend: Oversize Bows. As seen on the cover and inside the current issue of Brides Magazine, oversized bows are having a moment. Not only do they add a punch of unexpected drama with the right placement, but if you select a gown featuring a self-tying bow, like the Lauren Elaine Briarleigh, you can create the shape and look you prefer –from big and voluminous to loose and draped.
In the spirit of the New Year, we’re introducing new weekly themes to the blog! Today, I’m happy to be kicking off ‘Trend Tuesday’ – a weekly post highlighting timely trends in bridal fashion.
Today’s trend: 3-D Flowers. As seen in the current issue of Brides Magazine, currently on newsstands, up the luxe in your bridal look with textured flowers. Whether on the neckline, hemline, or even added to a veil or headpiece, texture is always exciting and decadent, and lace flowers keep the effect feminine and touchable.
Many of the newest Lauren Elaine Bridal gowns are peppered with our signature, 3-D french corded lace hand embroidered flowers – including the new Gardenia, Aurelia, Ivy, Aurora, and even the soon-to-be released Margaret dress from the upcoming “Reception Collection.”
If you’re keeping your gown look sleek but want a pop of floral, experiment with a textured hair accessory like the “Empress” headpiece (available by special order, firstname.lastname@example.org, see below.)
Reign in this regal gown of billowing chiffon, handcrafted french lace floral embroidery, and sweeping one-shoulder silhouette. SHOP AURORA here.

Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer, and the time when one of my favorite color trios starts popping up everywhere. While I love a good mix of red, white, and blue, I also love to change things up. During my recent creative retreat in Palm Springs, I decided to get a head start on a patriotic summer look by pairing the new “Praireigh” Maxi from Laine by Lauren Collection with a starry navy top, and substituting the classic red with a pop of bright orange. Swapping orange for red, or even teal for navy, is a great way to channel your inner ‘American girl’ without looking like a flag. Shop Praireigh HERE.

There’s one word that I always use to describe my personal style: feminine. Sometimes I lean a little bohemian, sometimes more conservative–but always feminine. So while enjoying my recent creative retreat to Palm Springs, I decide to embrace my obsession for classic, lady-like silhouettes in the new “Landry” dress from Lauren Elaine Black. I love the timeless cut paired with a bold, playful print- and the open back is perfect for hot summer days (or nights). SHOP “Landry” here.
