With breathtaking desert mountain views in the background, and vistas of pepper trees in the foreground, bride Tal tied the knot to husband Ian in true California style. Splashed with color from start to finish, Tal and Ian’s wedding at Angeles National Golf Club merged tradition with playful celebration and an indoor/outdoor venue perfectly suited to it’s June date and West Coast location. To add a generous dose of glamour to her Los Angeles affair, Tal worked with us to create the perfect custom Lauren Elaine mermaid wedding gown. Inspired by our “Aislin” and “Jasmine” styles, Tal’s custom gown incorporated champagne underlay side paneling, 3D floral lace appliqués, and a plunging back with a show-stopping feathered tulle skirt with detachable cathedral train, and topped with a custom cathedral veil and blusher. But even more show-stopping than her gown and venue combined, gorgeous Bride Tal shines with happiness in these dazzling captures by photographer Yair Haim.
“There is a pleasure in the pathless woods…”
Nothing is more inspiring than Nature. I’ve lost hours to google, constantly on the hunt for interesting and inspiring photoshoot locations and scenery, and beautiful new places to discover. In February, I explored 5 national parks throughout California, ranging from prehistoric lakes to alpine forests. I kicked off a month of exploration in a place close to home–Angeles National Forest. While not exactly a new destination for me (see Sunday Safari), it’s landscape is vast and changes dramatically from one mile to the next. With a picnic in tow, I explored the eastern range of the mountains, complete with towering pines and rustic bridges in golden afternoon light. A perfect spot if I ever choose to revisit our ‘Little Red Riding Hood‘ campaign.
Nothing boosts creativity and inspires new ideas more than a change of scenery. Seeing new things and exploring new places inspires new ways of thinking and looking at the world. Sometimes, amidst all the craziness of work and life, you just need to take a break, and get out! Living in LA, there’s no shortage of beautiful places to visit– and in just a day. No long vacation required. So this past Sunday, I decided to take a drive through the Angeles National Forest. Although I’ve lived in LA for nearly 8 years, I’ve only passed through bits and parts of the huge mountain range a few times (it’s 1,024.0 sq miles!) So a couple of hour before sunset, I set off for a ‘Sunday Safari’ — scouting new hiking trails, picking wildflowers, and taking in one epic sunset. On my adventure, I wore the new “Kenya” dress- fitting with it’s tribal safari print, and made of super comfortable rayon. Shop KENYA here!
