Today marks the 1 year anniversary of our Style House here in Los Angeles. I can’t believe it’s been one year already- it seemed like we were still under construction only a few months ago. Crazy enough, it’s also a little over one year since I launched the Lauren Elaine Bridal line. And since launching the bridal line, so much has changed. While it’s fun to reflect on the journey, I’m always planning for the future. And no matter how much we expand in order to accommodate new lines and ventures, there’s one thing that’s never changed: the Lauren Elaine brand is 100% made in the USA.
Being American-made has always been important to me. At first it was more a matter of necessity. As a new designer, the thought of manufacturing overseas was overwhelming. But as we’ve expanded, we’ve kept everything made right here in the USA. Not only does being ‘made in the USA’ ensure exceptional quality control, but it keeps jobs here in the US. Sadly, many manufacturers abroad exploit laborers (and often children) who work exhausting days for mere pennies. I want to feel good about what I sell, and no amount of profit should come at the expense and unfair treatment of others.
Being American is part of my identity. Sure- I love to travel and experience new cultures and places around the world – but America is where I call ‘home.’ Living in California inspires me as a Designer, and I believe in keeping production and the creation of my designs as close to home, and my inspiration, as possible.
