TREND TUESDAY: Oversized Bows

Today’s trend: Oversize Bows. As seen on the cover and inside the current issue of Brides Magazine, oversized bows are having a moment.  Not only do they add a punch of unexpected drama with the right placement, but if you select a gown featuring a self-tying bow, like the Lauren Elaine Briarleigh, you can create the shape and look you prefer –from big and voluminous to loose and draped.

TREND TUESDAY: 3-D Flowers

In the spirit of the New Year, we’re introducing new weekly themes to the blog! Today, I’m happy to be kicking off ‘Trend Tuesday’ – a weekly post highlighting timely trends in bridal fashion.

Today’s trend: 3-D Flowers. As seen in the current issue of Brides Magazine, currently on newsstands, up the luxe in your bridal look with textured flowers. Whether on the neckline, hemline, or even added to a veil or headpiece, texture is always exciting and decadent, and lace flowers keep the effect feminine and touchable.

Many of the newest Lauren Elaine Bridal gowns are peppered with our signature, 3-D french corded lace hand embroidered flowers – including the new Gardenia, Aurelia, Ivy, Aurora, and even the soon-to-be released Margaret dress from the upcoming “Reception Collection.” Lauren Elaine Bridal Brides Magazine Review

If you’re keeping your gown look sleek but want a pop of floral, experiment with a textured hair accessory like the “Empress” headpiece (available by special order, salesrep@lauren-elainedesigns.com, see below.)

Spotted: The Landry Dress

There’s one word that I always use to describe my personal style:  feminine.  Sometimes I lean a little bohemian, sometimes more conservative–but always feminine. So while enjoying my recent creative retreat to Palm Springs, I decide to embrace my obsession for classic, lady-like silhouettes in the new “Landry” dress from Lauren Elaine Black.  I love the timeless cut paired with a bold, playful print- and the open back is perfect for hot summer days (or nights). SHOP “Landry” here.

Breakfast with Tiffany

I love a good red dress. Give me a little red dress over a little black dress any day.  There’s something so feminine and powerful about red, and it commands attention like no other color.  So in the spirit of Valentines Day,  I’m excited to release one of my absolute favorite new dresses– the little red “Tiffany” dress.   I can never get enough of the 1950’s inspired silhouette, and  topped with polka dots and an oversized bow, this dress is perfect for the ‘Sweetheart’ season.  Dress it up with classic stilettos, or go comfortable in simple ballet flats. Given it’s name and vintage style, I couldn’t resist paying a little homage to the 1961 classic while spending some time in Pasadena.  SHOP “Tiffany” here.

Light and Spirit

Later this week we will be launching a new mini ‘LAINE by Lauren Elaine’ collection online.  I like to describe the ‘LAINE’ line as bohemian Americana.   Casual lifestyle pieces that are light and effortless with thoughtful, unique detailing, and full of spirit. LAINE is made in the USA, sweatshop free, and utilizes eco-friendly fabrics whenever possible.

Yesterday we did a shoot with pieces from the new collection.  I’ve included a few camera-phone snapshots in this post.  I hope you enjoy, and look for the new collection launching online soon…
