Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer, and the time when one of my favorite color trios starts popping up everywhere. While I love a good mix of red, white, and blue, I also love to change things up. During my recent creative retreat in Palm Springs, I decided to get a head start on a patriotic summer look by pairing the new “Praireigh” Maxi from Laine by Lauren Collection with a starry navy top, and substituting the classic red with a pop of bright orange. Swapping orange for red, or even teal for navy, is a great way to channel your inner ‘American girl’ without looking like a flag. Shop Praireigh HERE.

There’s one word that I always use to describe my personal style: feminine. Sometimes I lean a little bohemian, sometimes more conservative–but always feminine. So while enjoying my recent creative retreat to Palm Springs, I decide to embrace my obsession for classic, lady-like silhouettes in the new “Landry” dress from Lauren Elaine Black. I love the timeless cut paired with a bold, playful print- and the open back is perfect for hot summer days (or nights). SHOP “Landry” here.

When temps rose upwards of 95 degrees in LA this past week, I headed someplace even hotter. In the middle of Mojave desert, just outside of Palm Springs proper, is La Quinta, California– home of the legendary La Quinta Resort & Club (not to be confused with the chain of the same name.) Tucked beneath the mesmerizing Santa Rosa Mountains, it’s one of my absolute favorite hotels and places to visit. With over 45 acres and it’s own village, there’s never a reason to leave.
And that makes it the perfect spot for a creative retreat.
So this past week, I spent my time in a desert paradise, getting inspired and tackling some creative projects I’d put on hold. It’s easy to get wrapped up in the day to day of business and work. A creative retreat sets aside the necessary time to indulge in the fun, creative aspects of my job– from sketching and imagining new designs and collections, to brainstorming new projects and concepts. A desert getaway paired with unlimited time to indulge in creativity and get inspired, is my idea of the perfect vacation.
To combat the 100+ degree weather, I paired the “Deja” dress from ‘Laine by Lauren Elaine’ collection with an oversized chambray button down that I’ve claimed from my husband’s wardrobe:) Natural fabrics like cottons, rayons, and silks fair best in hot temps because they’re breathable. The colorful tie-dye pattern on the Deja also felt right at home with La Quinta’s colorfully lush landscape. SHOP DEJA here.

Last week, I posted about my recent trip to beautiful Santa Ynez. While I started off in Los Olivos, I saved the best for the last. And in my opinion, the “best” is definitely the Foxen Canyon Wine Trail. If you enjoy gorgeous views, great wine, and wide open spaces, it’s a must-do. In the spirit of the romantic country scenery, I paired the flirty “Sadie” dress from ‘Laine by Lauren Elaine’ collection, with my favorite cowboy hat. To take the western edge off, I finished the look off with a pair of combat boots — the perfect choice for stomping grapes, or just stomping around vineyards:)
While I could probably be content to just pull over and take in the scenery, it’s hard to pass up a visit to Firestone. I’ve yet to even come close to visiting each vineyard along the wine trail, but I always go back to Firestone. I love their Chardonnay, but more importantly, I love everything about their tasting room, and their sprawling vineyards.

At least once a year I take a trip to one of my favorite places in California for a little R & R. Nestled in the valley just north of Santa Barbara, is the central coast wine region of Santa Ynez, made famous by Sideways. Several little towns make up the Santa Ynez area- including Solvang, a surreal Danish village (you’d swear you were in Denmark), and my personal favorite, Los Olivos. The real-life Mayberry (seriously!), Los Olivos is picturesque and perfect. While enjoying my getaway to Santa Ynez last week, I spent the first day of the trip exploring Los Olivos, and tasting at the neighboring Bridlewood Vineyard (one of my absolute favorites!) It felt like springtime, and so I chose a bohemian look with the new “Medallion” skirt from Laine by Lauren Elaine, paired with a comfy, oversized sweater. SHOP “Medallion” here.
I’ll be posting more from my recent getaway on the blog soon!

I’m always excited to receive images from brides who have chosen Lauren Elaine Bridal for their special day. Recently, I received these beautiful pictures from Trisha, of Paris, France. Trisha worked with one of our international sales reps and selected the “Bella” gown in Softest Ivory chiffon for her romantic wedding in Denmark. A perfect choice! The rustic, serene location captures the ethereal, carefree spirit of the “Bella” wonderfully, and I absolutely adore Trisha’s choice of styling with the floral hair accessories and pop of color in her bouquet. A great example of effortlessly elegant bridal style. Take a look at some of the pictures below!
