Designer Disney Princesses

Last year, Harrod’s of London unveiled a collection of gowns inspired by the Disney Princesses–each one created by a different Designer.  My favorite? Definitely Oscar de la Renta’s ‘Snow White.’ While I’m biased because Snow White is my all-time favorite fairytale character, I love his literal and magical take on this classic. You can view the entire series below. Harrods-Disney-1

Purple Passion: Get the look!

While I’m normally not much of a purple fan, I’m completely in love with the “florescent violet” color option of the “Isla” gown from the SS2013 Black Label Collection.  I recently had the perfect excuse to wear the gown when I attended the 4th annual Taste Awards in Los Angeles on January 17th.  Below, you can read about my take on a complimentary makeup look for a bright, bold color like florescent violet- and some of the products I used to get the look:)Purplepassion

Chantilly Lace

In honor of the soon-to-be-released “Princess Bride”-inspired wedding editorial featuring ‘Lauren Elaine Bridal’- I thought  I’d share a few snapshots of a recently-completed custom bridal creation.  While we normally don’t post too many photos of the custom designs we’re working on, I couldn’t resist.  I’m in love with this dress.

It’s a tea length, 1950′s vintage-inspired frock of ivory silk and gorgeous ivory silk chantilly french lace.  The design features a corset-fitted sweetheart bodice, cinched banded waist, full belle skirt with crinoline petticoat, and chantilly lace v-illusion neckline.  The bride is also wearing a custom fascinator and birdcage veil to match. Perfection.

BEHIND-THE-SCENES: ModXChange Shoot

Yesterday I worked with ModXChange as a featured designer/brand- with a photo and video shoot out in the Mojave desert.  And while the desert is one of my absolute favorite locations- I could have done without the severe wind and sandstorms. I’m actually surprised these behind-the-scenes snapshots are in focus- standing still was nearly impossible!  We shot at this amazing rock formation (with photographer Nathan Le), and the dress pictured is the “Vera”- my newest obsession: full length sequined mermaid gown.  Enjoy.  Results to come soon. – LE

Mommie Dearest

Because it’s almost Mother’s Day, I thought I’d share this brilliant fashion editorial inspired by the 1981 classic.  I just love it!

And remember, “no wire hangers!”

L’Odyssee de Cartier

EPIC.

For those who follow me on twitter, you’ve probably seen the tweets about this-and know of my obsession. The new cartier film is purely EPIC.  I first saw it when it aired as a “commercial.”  In reality, it’s more of a fashion film.  I guess Cartier decided to buy out entire commercial breaks during major network programming to air it in all it’s 3.5 minute glory.  Again, EPIC.  Take a look, and appreciate the magic:)
